Living for God: Love, Service, and Stewardship of Gifts

1 Peter 4:1-11

4
Chapter 4
1 Therefore, since Christ has suffered in the flesh, you also arm yourselves with the same mindset, because the one who has suffered in the flesh has ceased from sin, 2 no longer to live the remaining time in the flesh according to human desires but according to God's will. 3 For the past time is sufficient to have accomplished the will of the nations, having walked in sensuality, fleshly desires, excessive drunkenness, revelries, drinking parties, and unlawful idolatries. 4 at which they are astonished that you do not run with them into the same pouring out of dissipation, blaspheming; 5 who will give account to the one who is ready to judge the living and the dead. 6 For to this end the gospel was also proclaimed to the dead, so that they might be judged in the flesh according to men but live according to God in the spirit. 7 But the end of all things has drawn near. Therefore be sound-minded and sober for prayers. 8 Above all, having fervent love among yourselves, because love covers a multitude of sins. 9 hospitable to one another without grumbling; 10 Each one, as he received a spiritual gift, serving one another as good stewards of the diverse grace of God. 11 If anyone speaks, as with oracles of God; if anyone serves, as from the strength which God supplies; so that in all things God may be glorified through Jesus Christ, to whom is the glory and the cosmic power into the ages of the ages. Amen.
